Swim Zone Matamata

If you're heading to Swim Zone Matamata this week please be aware that council is closing sections of Meura Street so that an arborist can safely prune the trees. This will be done in two stages.

On Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 August, Meura Street will be closed from Tamihana Street to Tui Street. The western side of the footpath in this section will also be closed. The eastern side of the footpath, where the entrance to Matamata Domain is, will remain open.

On Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 August, Meura Street will be closed from Tui Street to Broadway. This time the eastern side of the footpath (where our entrance is) will be closed while the western side will remain open.

You will still be able to access Swim Zone Matamata, but may need to park elsewhere.

Atlantis Swim School is based at Swim Zone Te Aroha. Our goal is to deliver an exceptional water safety and swim education programme using qualified, experienced instructors. Learning to swim is an important skill for kiwi kids, so we offer quality swimming lessons at an affordable price.

Atlantis Swim School is not providing any swimming lessons during 2021.

 

Cost

$80 for 10 lessons.

 

Classes available


Parents and babies

25 minute lesson

12 months to 3 years old

These classes are designed to teach you and your child water confidence and awareness. The classes assist in developing balance and coordination as well as social skills.

 

Pre school

25 minute lesson

3 to 4 years old

Real beginners - build water confidence on and under the water.

Beginners - floating on front and back, learn freestyle arm action.

 

School children

25 minute lesson

Real beginners - build water confidence on and under the water.

Beginners - floating on front and back, freestyle arm action and backstroke arm action.  

Breathers - develop freestyle breathing and backstroke, basic breaststroke and dolphin kick.

Improvers - improve breathing and fitness, working towards completing 20 metres of freestyle.

Advanced - develop stroke technique, diving and turns. Work towards complete 100 metres or more of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.

 

Private lessons

These lessons are designed for one person, or two people of similar ability.

20 or 30 minute lessons at a cost of $1 per minute booked.
